Selected Paintings by Dan Daly

For a number of years Dan's paintings have had certain main directions in content. There are a continuing series of studies of quintessential American objects, studies of the New England landscape, and pictures of nature and the sporting world.

"As I get older the way I make a mark or gesture as well as an increasing interest in paint quality, especially in some of the oils, seems to be asserting itself. I like to leave enough for someone to see the dynamic of process. Painting has always been a struggle to see clearly and the use of the hand and of material to execute a particular vision; not totally finessing the painting allows the viewer to experience some of the struggle as well as some of the joy of process."
